How Many Chapters Left Until Cake Island Arc Is Done

A gallery of fundamental events and developments across the start grand chapters of the manga.

The storyline of One Piece—manga and anime akin—is ordinarily divided into private story arcs for easier agreement. While the exact divisions are somewhat fluid, it is by and large understood that an arc begins when the Harbinger Chapeau Pirates country on a specific island, and ends when they leave.

Virtually, if non all story arcs, are grouped into larger sagas, which tend to reflect goals and/or enemies that the Straw Hats pursue across multiple islands.

Each "episode" is one panel, with a caption that includes the championship of the arc (given by Oda himself) and a clarification of what happens in the prototype. After each arc has run its course, there is a gear up of "normal" chapter title pages that showcases each fellow member of the Harbinger Hat crew, and then a new story arc is introduced. Starting from merely prior to the 9th encompass arc, a new segment called "Where They Are At present" began, catching up with other characters from a specific arc and their electric current day to solar day life prior to the specific story connected to the full embrace arc.

    Anime-Just Arcs

Because the One Piece manga is even so ongoing, Toei Animation uses not-manga cloth (filler) as a way to slow down the progression of the plot. If the anime were to catch upward with the manga, Toei would either take to wait for Oda to release more manga chapters, have the story in a direction independent of the manga (every bit was done in Rurouni Kenshin, Elfen Lied, InuYasha and Fullmetal Alchemist), or simply end it; whatsoever of these would likely harm the popularity of the series, and would not reflect well on either Toei Animation or Oda. Thus, boosted material is the only viable alternative.

Unlike non-manga material in many other shows, near 1 Piece filler takes place in story arcs independent from the main plot, and having little to no outcome on the subsequent canon story. These arcs also generally consist of lighter fare than Oda's own work, containing much more comedy, the presence of child characters, and little in the way of drama. Currently, the anime has twelve story arcs not present in the manga:

      1. Warship Island Arc (a.grand.a. Apis Arc): comes between the East Blue and Arabasta sagas. The Straw Hat Pirates attempt to help a mysterious daughter named Apis and a "G Year Dragon" named Ryuji, while combating the nefarious Erik and the Marines after the dragon.

        • Episodes: 5 (139-143)
      5. Chiliad-8 Arc: Comes subsequently the stop of the Heaven Isle Saga. Instead of splashing down in open up sea, the Going Merry is trapped within the enclosed and heavily fortified waters of a Marines base, where the coiffure must besprinkle to survive earlier attempting to retake their ship and escape.

        • Episodes: 5 (220-224)
      7. Foxy's Return Arc: immediately afterwards the Ocean'southward Dream Arc is this 2-episode brusque filler arc describing what became of the defeated Foxy and his crew following the Davy Dorsum Fight. The last episode of this arc is about Brook and how he's adjusting to the crew.
        • Episodes: 3 (382-384)

The characters of the series (mainly the protagonist coiffure) sometimes crossover to other franchises, and vice-versa. Those cross overs are considered not canon to the master series, however the characters recall their past encounters with the same crossed over group. This is a listing of the crossover thus far:

      1. Cross Epoch Cross EPOCH Kurosu Epokku: A crossover with several characters from Dragon Ball: In an alternative reality, Mr. Satan wishes the Dragon Assurance to be a rex. What follows are pairs of characters from each franchise to travel to Shenron tea political party.

    Translation and Dub Issues

For story changes to individual arcs and sagas, see their corresponding articles.

It should exist noted that discrepancies and debates exist over many of the above names, as Eiichiro Oda rarely if e'er gives "official" names to different sections of the storyline. During the early years of the manga and anime, names often referenced the Straw Hats' introductions (e.thou. "the Usopp arc") and/or major antagonists (e.m. "the Don Krieg arc"); location-based names became the norm subsequently the Straw Hats entered the Yard Line, and the story increased accent on exploration.

Similar debates exist over what qualifies as a "saga"—especially post-timeskip, where the Straw Hats have entered nearly every new isle with at to the lowest degree two carryover plot-lines from a prior 1.

Relatedly, the distinction between "arcs" and "sagas" is largely original to the English-speaking fanbase; Japanese fans and promotional materials almost exclusively use the term hen ( , hen ? ), e.1000. "East Blue-hen" for the East Blue Saga, "Impel Down-hen" for the Impel Down Arc, and even "Super Rookies-hen" for the entire pre-timeskip story.[iii] [iv] This simpler convention is non without its own ambiguities and conflations—"Arabasta-hen", for case, is commonly used for the storyline taking place in Arabasta proper and for all of the pb-up storylines featuring Nefertari Vivi aboard the Going Merry.
